Prostitution Case Dismissed the Day of Trial

Client accused of soliciting sex with an undercover officer (PC 647(b)) where an agreement for sex was made via text messages stemming from an online advertisement. Officers raided motel room and found client in lingerie with cash and condoms. Client faced deportation. A defense motion to suppress evidence was granted in part. At trial, client rejected an offer of disturbing the peace with no jail. The DA then dismissed the case. No jail. No criminal record. No fines. No immigration consequences.

Possession of Billy Club Case Dismissed

Police found a 3 ft long wooden billy club with a metal spike on one end (PC 22210) in client's car during a traffic stop . Negotiated a dismissal. No jail. No consequences.

Resisting Arrest Case Reduced to Infraction

Client rolled a stop sign and then walked away and cursed out officers as they sought to detain him during a traffic stop. As a result, he was charged with resisting, obstructing, or delaying the officers (PC 148(a)(1)). Case negotiated down to disturbing the peace with loud noise (PC 415(2)) as an infraction and a non-moving parking violation, also an infraction, for no points on driving record. No jail. Small fine only. 

Hit-and-Run Case Dismissed

Client hit a parked luxury vehicle and fled without leaving information (VC 20002(a)). Negotiated a dismissal with 20 hours of community service and a 6-hour driver safety class. No jail. No immigration consequences.

Obstructing a Police Officer Case Dismissed

Police came to client's house to arrest son on a warrant. Client did not cooperate as her son escaped from the window. She was charged with willfully delaying the officers (PC 148(a)(1)). Negotiated a dismissal. Client avoided jail and immigration consequences.

Drunk in Public Case Dismissed After 11 Jurors Vote Not Guilty

Client was discovered very drunk while on a public bench with a bottle of beer. Client tried to hide the bottle, which the DA argued showed an awareness that he was guilty. I argued to the jury that my client's awareness to hide the beer raised a doubt that he was so drunk that he could not care for the safety of himself or others (the proof needed to convict someone of public intoxication). 11 jurors agreed and the prosecution immediately moved to dismiss the case. 

Harassing Phone Calls Case Dismissed with Serna Motion

Client accused of harassing an ex-girlfriend with repetitive phone calls. I filed a motion to dismiss case based on client's 6th Amendment right to a speedy trial aka "Serna Motion," which resulted in case being dismissed.

Driving on Suspended License Case Dismissed

Negotiated dismissal after showing the DA and judge how the DA filed the case late (although within the statute of limitations) and the matter should have been addressed months prior during a different case. No further jail. Client avoids $2300 fine and points on driving record.

Obstructing or Delaying Officer Case Dismissed

While client's boyfriend was being arrested, she interfered with the officer's investigation (PC 148(a)(1)) and frustrated the officers to point of arrest. Case negotiated to dismissal.

Vandalism Case Dismissed with Civil Compromise

Client accused of purposely hitting and damaging his neighbor's car after being blocked in. Negotiated civil compromise that led to dismissal of case and no immigration consequences.

Intimidating a Witness Case Reduced to Disturbing the Peace

Client drove to location where two alleged victims were working, took pictures and allegedly intimidated them (PC 136.1(a)(2)) prior to an upcoming court hearing. Negotiated a plea to disturbing the peace with loud noise. No further jail. 

Resisting Arrest Case Reduced with Anger Management Classes

Police were called out to a fight involving client and family member. When arresting client, he allegedly struck one officer and spit on another. Case negotiated to disturbing the peace with loud noise (PC 415(2)) only. No jail. Client required to complete an anger management class only. 

Hit-and-Run Case Dismissed with Community Service

Client fled the scene after crashing into another driver who followed him and called police. Client admitted to officers his intention to get away. Negotiated a dismissal with 20 hours community service and a 6-hour driver safety class. 

Vandalism Case Dismissed with Civil Compromise

Client seen keying car in grocery store parking lot being blocked in. A conviction would jeopardize career ambitions. Negotiated civil compromise with car owner and case was ultimately dismissed.

Fraudulent Registration Sticker Case Reduced to Infraction

Client printed a fake registration sticker (VC 4463(a)(1)), got caught, and admitted falsifying the registration. A conviction would have jeopardized client's professional license. Negotiated an infraction plea to not have a valid registration. No jail. Small fine only. No career consequences.

Hit-and-Run Case Dismissed with Community Service

Client fled after causing a three-car collision. Property damage only. Case negotiated to a dismissal with completion of 20 hours community service and 6-hour driver safety class. 

Public Intoxication Case Dismissed

Client was found in parked car in his apartment building very intoxicated. Due to no evidence of driving, the DA charged only that he was drunk in public. Disputed it was in public and that he was drunk to point legally necessary to find someone guilty of public intoxication. Case dismissed. No jail. No immigration consequences.

Vandalism Case Dismissed with Civil Compromise

Client's neighbors accused client of keying their friend's car. Negotiated a civil compromise with the car owner that led to case dismissal. 

Reckless Driving and Suspended License with Priors Dismissed

Officers attempted to pull over my client who's license was suspended (VC 14601.1(a)) with multiple prior convictions meaning he faced jail and significant fines. He drove recklessly (VC 23103) in an brief attempt to evade. Case negotiated to a non-moving violation as an infraction and no jail after client submitted proof that he had since obtained his license.

Probation Violation Withdrawn

Client faced jail time for failing to comply with probationary conditions. The violation was withdrawn after sufficient showing that client met the condition (albeit not timely). No jail.

Vandalism Case Dismissed with Community Service

Client broke into an abandoned building with friends. Shattered a window. Case negotiated to a dismissal with completion of community service hours and class.

Displaying False Registration Sticker Case Reduced to Infraction

Client was pulled over without valid registration, but someone else's sticker on plate (VC 4462.5). Also, client did not have a driver's license (VC 12500(a)). Case resolved for not having valid registration, an infraction only, and for not having license in possession, VC 12951, also an infraction. No jail. Small fine only. No immigration consequences.

Minor in Possession of Alcohol Case Resolved for Infraction

Client, a minor, was caught drinking in public in violation of Business and Professions Code Section 25662(a). Case resolved for BP 25658.5, infraction and $100 fine only. No jail.
